We are beginning the complex process of planning for next year’s classes. There are many factors that go into the decision of where to place our students. One of these factors is parental input.
Please take a moment to give us your input as to next year’s placement decision by filling out the form below. Although parental input is only of the factors that we can consider in deciding placement, it is an important one.
I also want to take this opportunity to share with you some of the larger goals that we are working toward with next year’s placement process. These goals arise not only from the broader mission of the Madison Metropolitan School District, but are also goals that our staff and parents communicated to us throughout the 2013-2014 school year. First, we are continuing to aim for balanced classrooms while at the same time working to meet the needs of individual students. Second, we want to make sure that your child is in an environment of academic peers. This process involves a great investment of time and energy by staff, as we consider where to place each of our students.
Our ultimate goal is to do what is best for all students. I am confident that, through our placement process, we will be able to develop classroom communities that will help increase achievement for each individual student and for our overall student body. I know that there is a degree of trust we need to ask from you in this process. I assure you that all of us at Shorewood respect and value that trust. Our goal is to repay that trust by providing your children with a valuable and unique educational experience. I look forward to upholding this tradition of excellence with you in the next school year. Thank you again for your help and support. I look forward to hearing back from you.
